In July of 2017 the Empire State Development Corporation announced the redevelopment of 43 acres of land within Belmont Park for the ground-up construction of a new sports and entertainment venue. Located in Elmont, NY, this $1.3 billion redevelopment transformed land that had been deemed as surplus into the new home of the NHL’s New York Islanders and created an event destination that included a 350,000-square foot retail and entertainment complex and a new hotel.
Muñoz, as a subconsultant to the joint venture team of AECOM/Hunt, provided construction stakeout and as-built surveys in and around the arena.
