CROTON WATER TREATMENT PLANT

The Croton Water Filtration Plant is a treatment facility for drinking water located under the Mosholu Golf Course in New York City's Van Cortlandt Park. It started operating in 2015, after being built at a cost of more than $3 billion, and can process up to 320 million U.S. gallons of water per day.

Construction of the Croton plant began in August 2007 and finished in 2018. The facility treats roughly 10% to 30% of New York City's drinking water and was developed to improve treatment of the Croton supply.

Services were performed according to the Joint Venture's contract with NYCDEP, specifically resident engineering inspection support. Inspectors worked under the supervision of the Joint Venture's Resident Engineer, maintained daily inspection reports and payment records, reviewed contractor documentation, kept as-built drawings current, and performed other field duties required by the Resident Engineer.
