HISTORY | PRINCIPALS / KEY STAFF


History:
In 1983 Patricio Muñoz, P.E  founded Muñoz Engineering and Land Surveying, P.C. in New York City.  In the beginning, the firm concentrated primarily on municipal engineering services, providing civil engineering and resident engineering to New York City agencies for the construction of City infrastructure – roads, sidewalks, utilities, and sanitary systems.

During the 1990’s MEPC expanded its operations to include Construction Management services, with the creation of their Construction Management Group. Among its first CM projects were the reconstruction of Co-op City, a $164 million housing defect repair program of the State of New York, and the planned $360 million modernization of Queens Hospital Center, for HHC, as a joint venture partner. These projects were just the beginning of the impressive resume MEPC would develop in the years to come.

Today, the firm continues to expand its services as a joint venture partner, prime consultant and subconsultant in various industries including the public housing, health care, parks and recreation, transportation facilities, and criminal justice sectors, among others.  

MEPC is also a major provider of land and construction surveying, construction management, and engineering services for clients including the NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDEP, DASNY, NJSCC, private developers, and many other diverse clients.




Principals/Key Staff:
Patricio Muñoz, P.E. President & C.E.O
Patricio Muñoz serves as the firm’s President and Chief Executive Officer, responsible for the firms’ strategic planning, directing and evaluation of operations.

Mr. Muñoz has more than forty five years experience in the consulting engineering and construction management industries.  As a professional engineer he has managed large, multidisciplinary public funded infrastructure projects ranging from design services for utilities, roads, streets, highway and bridge reconstruction projects, building construction (rehab and new), construction management as well as survey and mapping.


Mr. Muñoz is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of New York and New Jersey.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Central University - Quito, Ecuador. 



Fabrizio Muñoz, Executive Vice President, Director of Construction Management

Fabrizio Muñoz serves as the firm’s Executive Vice President and Director of the Construction Management Division.  He has over 23 years of experience in managing engineering and construction management projects for both facilities and infrastructure work.  Projects include airports, schools, institutional and correctional facilities, residential buildings and infrastructure improvements.  As Executive Vice President Mr. Munoz is responsible for the planning and implementation of overall operations in the firm.

Mr. Muñoz has a Bachelor of Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University.  He obtained his Master of Business Administration from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.



Manny Beigelmacher
, PE, Senior Vice President, Marketing / Business Development

Mr. Beigelmacher is the Senior Vice president for business development and client services.  He has over 37 years of extensive experience in the fields of inspection, management, planning and programming of capital programs for infrastructure in the New York City Metropolitan area.

Mr. Beigelmacher is responsible for the development of the business plan, marketing strategies, proposal preparation, development of presentations and the negotiation of contracts.

Mr. Beigelmacher attended Polytechnic University, Brooklyn New York, where he earned both a Bachelor and Master of Science.  He also attended New York University where he received a Master of Business Administration (MBA).  He is a licensed professional engineer in the State of New York.




Jorge Jaramillo PE,
Director of Civil Engineering
Mr. Jaramillo is the Director of Civil Engineering for Munoz Engineering & Land Surveying, P.C. He has more than 17 years of experience in publicly and private funded projects including traffic, transportation, highway, bridges, institutional and water treatment facilities, site development and construction projects.

Mr. Jaramillo is responsible for overseeing all operations of the Civil Engineering Department including the preparation and management of design contract documents and construction supervision. He is also responsible for scheduling, managing, production and client liaison.


Mr. Jaramillo attended the Central University of Quito-Ecuador where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil engineering. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York.



Chris Caiano PE,
Director of Surveying Services
Mr. Caiano is the Director of Surveying for Munoz Engineering & Land Surveying, P.C. He has more than 9 years of experience in the coordination of both large and small scale surveying and design projects.


In this role, Mr. Caiano uses his experience to develop project scoping and negotiate contracts. He manages a team of Surveyors, Engineers, and Technicians establishing priorities in the execution of the company's work load.  He is also responsible for the approval of deliverables as part of the company's quality control process. 


Mr. Caiano attended State University at Buffalo New York where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil engineering. He is proficient in the latest versions of CAD and GIS mapping software and is spearheading the company's transition to 3D workflows by implementing the use of laser scanning and state of the art 3D CAD software products.
